Member of the Month

Novak is Citizen of the Year

Larry Novak was named "Citizen of the year" in Maple Heights in the ceremonies last Wednesday, with Mayor Jeffrey A. Lansky conferring the honor at the regular meeting of Maple Heights City Council.

The award is given each year by the city to a resident who has made a differnce in the communty. Novak, owner of Novak's Flower Shoppe on Dunham rd. for the past 24 years, has been a member of the Maple Heights Chamber of Commerce since its inception in 1996, a board member since 1997, and is currently the Chamber's president.

He is the past president of FTD and the Maple Heights Rotary Club, and has contributed much to the city trhough his participation and volunteer efforts in a wide variety of civic events. He has donated over 80 bouquets of flowers to the brides of couples married by Mayor Lansky at city hall. Novak has also congratulated by his wife, Terri. The will celebrate their 30-year anniversary on April 19. (The Neigborhood News March 10, 2010)
